2016 Area Meetings: “Renew, Refresh & Refocus”
Within the five Regions of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., each is divided into smaller areas to help with the Region’s management. Each area hosts an annual workshop to address the needs of the area, receive Regional & International updates from the Regional Syntaktes, and provide various training opportunities to its participants.
Area workshop is open to all financial sorors, with new opportunities for inactive sorors to also attend, but specifically the Sorors in your Area. The workshop can also be open to Area Philos and Rhoers, please be sure to confirm with the Area Coordinator if the workshop will be open to the affiliates
Organized by
Central Region was established in 1925 and organized in 1940 by Sorors Homer Woods of Chicago, Illinois, and Ruth Armstrong of St. Louis, Missouri. The first annual Central Regional Conference of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., met on the campus of the Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois, May 10-12, 1940, with Psi Sigma Chapter of Kansas City, Missouri serving as hostess. Today, Central Region comprises 43 Graduate Chapters and 56 Undergraduate Chapters.
